 | Chairman: Kuan Hsin-chi Kuan Hsin-chi obtained his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Munich, Germany in 1972 and joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1973. He is there currently an Emeritus Professor of Government & Public Administration and Director of Universities Service Centre for China Studies. He serves the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences in Vatican as an Academician. His community services include the Board of Directors, Agency for Volunteer Service,Hong Kong Catholic Board of Education and the Academic Consultative Committee of the Institute of Political Science in the Academia Sinica (Taiwan). |  | Leader: Audrey Eu Yuet-mee Audrey Eu obtained her LLB from the University of Hong Kong in 1975. She was admitted as a barrister in Hong Kong in 1978. In 1993, she was called to the Inner Bar and became a Queen’s Counsel (now known as Senior Counsel). In 1994, she became a Non-official Justice of the Peace. She was the Chairman of Hong Kong Bar Association in 1997 and 1998. She is currently a member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong Island Geographical Constituency). Audrey Eu is married with 3 daughters. He was admitted as a barrister in Hong Kong in 1983. In 1998, he was called to the Inner Bar, the first appointment of Senior Counsel after the establishment of the HKSAR. He was the Chairman of Hong Kong Bar Association and a member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Kowloon East Geographical Constituency). Website: www.alanleong.com. |  | Vice-chairman (External Affairs): Albert Lai Kwong-tak Albert Lai has been a sustainability advocate in the engineering sector for over thirty years. Throughout his career in engineering and infrastructure development, he has taken a keen interest in voluntary work and public affairs. He is recognised as a prime mover in a range of civil society initiatives in the fields of environmental protection, urban planning, heritage conservation, poverty alleviation and corporate social responsibilty. He was the leader of the Hong Kong NGO delegation to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002, and the Hong Kong NGO Delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali in December 2007. Albert Lai is the current Chairman of The Professional Commons, the founding Chairman of the Hong Kong People’s Council for Sustainable Development, the immediate past Chairman and current Director of the Conservancy Association. He is also an Executive Committee member of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, a member of the Strategy Sub-Committee, Council for Sustainable Development, HKSAR Government and a former member of the Government Commission on Strategic Development.
|  | Secretary General: Chan Ka Lok Chan, Ka Lok Kenneth received his first degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and D.Phil. in Politics from Nuffield College, University of Oxford. He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Government and International Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University. He has held visiting positions at Institute of European Studies of Macau, the National Centre on European Studies in New Zealand, the Asia-Europe Foundation in Singapore, as well as the University of Warsaw and the University of Gdansk in Poland. His interests include EU-China/HK Relations, Post-Communist Politics, Democratization, European Union Politics, Hong Kong Politics and East European languages. He has written extensively on the local and international affairs and co-hosted TV and radio programmes on public affairs. |  | Annie Ki Annie Ki is the founding member of Civic Party. Commence from 1993 Annie devoted her volunteer services in district works and later in district council work. She put efforts in promotion of Parenting Education, Home-School Co-operation, Family Harmony and Health Society projects. Upon joining Civic Party, Annie continues to focus on education, environmental issues and district work development. She has represented Civic Party to express opinions in education policies in LegCo's Education Panel. Besides, she fully participates in the development of Hong Kong Island Branch District Office (Southern) to hold various activities, through activities to introduce environmental ideals to the public and to establish a potential district work for future. Annie Ki at present is the Chairman of Hong Kong Island Branch, the District Developer of Hong Kong Island South, and the Convenor of District Development of Community & Social Development Policy Branch. |  | Thomas Yu Kwun-wai When Thomas Yu was a student at Shue Yan College, he was elected as the President of the Student Union and the Chairperson of Standing Committee of Hong Kong Federation of Students. He has learnt a lot from the student movement and become more socially committed. He also realized that one can’t live without “politics”. He is the Chairman of the youth branch of the Party: the Young Civics, and youth issues will be his prior concern. He hopes that we can change the mainstream negative perception about “politics”, while he believes POLITICS IS NOT A DIRTY MATTER. He is the Chairman of the Kowloon East Branch. |  | Claudia Mo Man-ching Born and brought up in HK, Claudia Mo has been practising journalism her entire working life. After obtaining a bachelor of journalism degree from Carleton University, Canada, in 1979, she found her first niche at AFP's HK bureau and has since worked full time as well as freelance for various press labels, print and electronic, local and foreign. She has also authored 10 books in Chinese, mostly on media related subjects and is currently lecturing politics and journalism courses part-time at the Chinese University and Baptist University. She is the Chairman of the Kowloon West Branch. She is married to journalist Philip Bowring. They have two sons. |  | Ronny Tong Ka-wah Ronny Tong is currently a member of the Legislative Council of HKSAR (New Territory East). He obtained his LLB from Hong Kong University in 1972 and BCL from Oxford University in 1974. He was admitted as an English Bar in 1974 and a Hong Kong Bar in 1975. He was appointed as Her Majesty’s Counsel in 1990 and later the Senior Counsel. He became the chairperson of Hong Kong Bar Association in 1999 and 2000. He has also been a member of the Article 23 Concern Group and the Article 45 Concern Group. He is the Chairman of the New Territories East Branch. Alan attended RYERSON University in Canada and graduated with a B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was licensed as a Professional Engineer Ontario in year 2005. He also attended HKUST and graduated a M.Sc degree in Engineering Enterprise Management. He is an active helper in voluntary work and public affairs. He was a Scout of the Year 1990; moreover, he helped and organized first aid services for St John Ambulance in Toronto. He is a current District Scout Leader. He is also a consultant or committee member in different Owner Committees. Alan Yip is the Chairman of the New Territories West Branch. He would like to enhance the district works in community. Website: facebook.com/engineer.alan |  | Gladys Li Gladys Li took up an interest in public affairs on her return to Hong Kong in 1982, after 10 years' practice as a barrister in England. She became a member of the Lobby Group which sought to inform British MPs in the late 1980s about lack of democracy, absence of human rights protections and the importance of the rule of law in Hong Kong. She was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in 1990 and became Senior Counsel in 1997. She was the Chairman of the HK Bar Association in 1995 and 1996. She has also been a member of the Article 23 Concern Group and the Article 45 Concern Group. She is now the Chairman of the Membership Committee of the Party. |  | Stephen Chan Ching-kiu Stephen Chan is the Professor at the Department of Cultural Studies and Programme Director of its Master of Cultural Studies degree at Lingnan University. He was the founding programme director of the BA Cultural Studies degree in 1999, and headed the new Cultural Studies Department from 2000 to 03. Chan is published internationally on Hong Kong culture, film, literature, and cultural studies. His current scholarly interests include transnational imagination in action cinema, cultural research and liberal education, urban public culture and policy, and critical pedagogy through popular genres. He is a member of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and chairman of its Criticism sub-committee. He is also the Chairman of the Community & Social Development Branch of the Party. |  | Dennis Kwok Graduated from King’s College London, United Kingdom in 1999, Dennis holds a law degree and was admitted as a solicitor in the High Court of Hong Kong in 2002 and to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales in 2003. Subsequently, he was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2006. He was a member of the Article 45 Concern Group, and is a founding member of the Civic Party and the Professional Commons, a think-tank for public policies. In 2006, he was elected as an Election Committee Member for the Legal Functional Constituency. He is also a core member of the Citizens’ Commission on Constitutional Development headed by the former Chief Secretary; Mrs. Anson Chan. |  | Kwok Wing Chun, Michael Graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, USA in 2002, Michael holds a Masters Degree in Architecture, he also holds two separate Bachelor Degrees in both Environmental Design and Geography from the University of Manitoba, Canada. He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, and a Registered Architect with the HKSAR Architects Registration Board. He currently runs his own practice as an Architectural and Interiors Design Consultant. He also teaches architectural design at City University as a part time lecturer. Michael is a founding member of Civic Party and Professional Commons, and has for the past two years actively engaged in advocating quality city planning and urban environmental design in Hong Kong through these two organizations. Michael is Chairman of Environment and Sustainable Development Policy Branch. Michael is married to Philana. They have a four year old son and a two year old daughter. |  | Bill Lay Yan Piau Bill Lay graduated in Hong Kong Polytechnic, and he had been elected as the President of the Student Union. In 1993, he obtained MA in Social Work/Dip. SW in the Department of Social Work of University of Hull. Bill has a keen interest in policy analysis, strategic planning on district organization. He has working in Caritas Community Centre of Kowloon City since 1993 and he has been leading different teams of social workers to address the needs of minorities. He is the chairperson and spokesperson of The Sandwich Class Housing Coalition since 1999. He is the Chairman of the Health and Personal Well Being Branch of the Party. He is married and has a son. |  | Tanya Chan Tanya Chan is the Chairperson of Young Civics. |  | Joseph Cheng Yu-shek Joseph Cheng is the Chair Professor of Political Science and the Co-ordinator of the Contemporary China Research Project, City University of Hong Kong. He is the founding editor of the Hong Kong Journal of Social Sciences and The Journal of Comparative Asian Development. He has published widely on political development in China and Hong Kong, Chinese foreign policy and local government in southern China. He was chairman of the Hong Kong Observers, 1980-82; and Convenor of Power for Democracy, 2002-04. He has been a Justice of Peace since 1992; and was the founding President of the Asian Studies Association of Hong Kong, 2005-07. |  | Fernando Cheung Chiu-hung Fernando Cheung is currently a Legislative Councillor of the Social Welfare Constituency and a Lecturer at the Department of Applied Social Sciences, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. First graduated from the Social Work Department of the Baptist College in 1980, Fernando then went to the U.S. for further study and later worked as the Director of a non-profit community based organization in California, where he resided for 15 years. Fernando obtained his doctoral degree from University of California, Berkeley in 1990. His main concerns include income disparity, poverty, and social security, needs of persons with disabilities, domestic violence, human rights and social justice. He is also interested in the development of the civil society in Hong Kong. |  | Tsang Kwok Fung Kwok Fung is the founding member of Civic Party and currently the Deputy Chairperson of the New Territories East Branch. He received his first degree from the Communication Faculty of the Hong Kong Baptist University and a Master degree in Politics and Social Policy from the University of Nottingham. Tsang has been very active in advocating democracy since he was a student. He was the President of the Student Union of Hong Kong Baptist University and then the Deputy Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Federation of Student. He became a journalist after graduated and joined Ronny Tong’s LegCo office in 2004. After the Civic Party was found, Kwok Fung was appointed as the first Chief Administrative Officer. In 2007, he ran in the District Council Election (Tai Po) and the Legislative Council Election (NTE) in 2008. He is now employed as the Public Policy Advisor by Ronny Tong's LegCo office. |
