各位尊敬的黨員黨友﹕
外傭居權案帶來的社會分化，我黨四面受襲，面臨自創黨以來最嚴峻的處境。在無暇入睡時，我慶幸自己可以享受兩本極具啓發性的小書，分別是英國大法官Tom Bingham的 The Rule of Law 《法治》和美國哈佛法學教授Cass R. Sunstein的 Going to Extremes《走偏鋒》，希望不久將來向大家推介。
執委會成員對外傭居權案有充份的討論和分析，經過嚴謹討論，我們在8月4日刋登廣告向公衆表達我們的觀點及態度，各執委成員對外和對內有維持有效的溝通的任務，不敢怠慢。黨魁和我已跟各位區議員和地區發展者直接會面交流。我們一星期內多次主動向傳媒分析事件本質，擺事實講道理，亦會繼續留意事態發展。
建制派民粹的言論恣意出擊，用上誇張失實和恫嚇技倆引導輿論，分化社會，製造偏見，誤導民意。繼99年居港權事件，原班人馬又再重施故技，破壞三權分立制度，鼓吹尋求人大釋法，踐踏法治。政府全程配合，不是「玩失縱」便是火上加油，極不負責任！這一切都不是香港之福，更非一個公道社會所容！
理性從政、文明管治是香港所需。公民黨崇尚理性與法治，採取主動迅速回應公眾對準確資訊的需要，我們不可以讓無根據的恐慌言論主導香港的政策和民情。
我早前提議執委會出版一份《號外》，配合單張，市民會有更多機會接觸到我黨要為香港捍衛的核心價值。
從政的人要向民粹主義說不！不可以隨隨便便說些方便「甩身」的假話！
在建制派不斷以歪理攻擊我們的時候，我們要挺直腰板，實踐我們的創黨理念和宗旨。
因為，我們追求的是一個公平包容的世界！
因為，我們相信，公民黨做得到！
