「煲」劇與「煲」民主
上海行劇終之際，有報道引述團中人謂，感覺似被「過一棟」。這三字，乍聽真像電視劇中的對白，係一搓麻將術語，將之嵌入一幕現實政治場景，不就是說受騙了、給耍了。
問，用英文講被「過一棟」？答案有正經的being cheated、being set up，不太正經的being f××ked up，不是太嚴肅就是粗糙了點。為求一襯本土風味，英文都應走idiomatic路線，於是最對稱的一句習語許是：being taken for a ride。直譯是「給帶了去遊車河」，指給搵笨、被搵老襯。而因為一個ride字，這次滬港之間，也真有遊飛機河的畫面。
一開始就拒絕參演的那幕上海行大龍鳳周末，有舊友在WhatsApp大談「煲」劇心得，由是聯想外人的一句：You can’t just keep BINGEING ON democracy calls……這兩者之間的關係，容我細說。
煲劇的「煲」，是沉迷追看，包含自我縱容self-indulgence，是an act of allowing yourself to have or do the things that you enjoy very much。但講到底也不一定是壞事，譬如說，決定放幾日假，自我放縱一下，也是一款self-indulgence。
就像煲劇，只要未至於廢寢忘餐，純粹娛樂，問題不大。卻是，煲劇之煲，英文講 binge-watch、binge-view：I binge-watched the whole season of the show。
Binge這個字，有放縱至「亂嚟」，excessive indulgence之意，多用於講酗酒暴食、胡亂購物a shopping binge，以及吸毒議題：The addict died of a heroin binge，那癮君子吸過量海洛英致死。
但binge一樣可以用於無傷大雅的畫面，像The kids binged on ice-cream at the party，孩子不過一輪大快朵頤箒。饒是這樣，binge總是不快的聯想居多。
就回到一句You can’t just keep bingeing on democracy calls。言下之意，是豈可淨講民主（日日「食住、大吃」民主訴求），不講民生？在香港，這話就是錯得很。在香港，正正就是因為沒有民主，民生都受建制一派操控，奄奄一息。
煲劇，固然是娛樂，煲民主，就更是講民生。Hong Kong lacks and needs a democracy binge！
