People mountain peoplesea?
真要直譯,人山人海是︰Mountains and seas of people,但恐怕許多英文教師都會改做Huge crowds ofpeople。
We saw a sea of people at the graduationceremony. I am alone in a sea of people.
There were waves of people marchingthrough the city. There is a non-stop flow of people.
要形容人多至針插不下、爆滿, 有packed out、filled to capacity、chock-a-block、chock-full ︰The square is packed out.
The concert all is filled to capacity.
The fans were chock-a-block in thewaiting area.
(Chock-a-block,人多至轉不了身、動不了; crammed so tightly together as toprevent movement.)
The park is chock-full of kids.
Chock-full 也常用於講人以外的情︰ My work schedulesare chock-full.
另外,話說擠擁,英文也用上jam(果醬)或sardine(沙甸魚)︰The hall was jam-packed with fans. The place was sardined with supporters.
The bus was full. We were packed in likesardines.
