不一樣的周年大會
大律師公會換屆周年大會， 「人權大狀」戴啟思當選主席，他的五人團隊中有四人當選為執委，包括駱應淦和陳文敏，輿論反應熱烈，證明社會真的對公會有期望，所以才那麼關心會員不足千五人的一個團體的選舉。公會時刻都須緊記不要辜負市民的期望，特別在維護法治的重大問題上。
公眾對戴啟思及陳文敏都有認識，知道他們一貫作風低調、用語溫和，然而原則堅定、法律理據分析清楚，充分體現公會專業獨立的地位。我自1995 年至2012 年任立法會法律界選出的議員期間，十年如一日，完全尊重公會的專業獨立地位和意見，沒有人會以為公會受到哪個政黨或哪股政治勢力的擺佈。社會尊重的是公會而不是個別人士，任何公會主席或執委會成員都有義務不讓自己的言行損害公會的公信力。
上星期舉行的周年大會，最重大的意義不在於主席選舉結果誰勝誰敗，而是親身出席的五百名成員，及以授權票參與的另外數百之眾，合共一千二百張選票，佔全體成員八成，顯示出香港的執業大律師，無論資歷深淺，對關懷法治、對公會路向的認真態度。這是公會的根基，也是香港法治一塊重要的基石。在法治受到嚴峻考驗的今天與來年，上周的周年大會特具意義，令我感到無比安慰。
