臨近11．24投票日，林鄭月娥面無慚色地說，希望區議會選舉能夠舉行，但「主導權不在特區政府」。廢話，卸膊。林鄭除了縱容警暴、機械式譴責「暴徒」，她有無竭盡所能令這場她口中「這麼重要的選舉」不致取消或押後？
市民看到過去幾個月，政府並非完全被動，而是事在人為。當林鄭首次社區對話，場外有示威，但只要政府決心營造和平氣氛，警方就異常克制，全晚沒有催淚煙，沒有喝罵驅趕市民，會場內外平安大吉；當個別港鐵站需要重開，即使部分出入口關閉、閘機損毁，港鐵職員會手持八達通機讓乘客拍卡通過，耗時但行得通。
因此，當政制及內地事務局長聶德權開出11．24選舉如期舉行的3個條件，其一是「隧道、幹線和道路不被堵塞」，不期然令人聯想，紅隧對上的行人天橋已經清場，隧道入口無疑是有設施損毁和路障，但政府真的完全無辦法局部開通紅隧方便市民？令人費解。有所為有所不為，幾時為幾時不為，怎會沒有政治考慮。
選民慣性下午起施施然去投票，今次區選有腰斬的暗湧，筆者呼籲選民早上7時半票站開門即去投票，並提防有人製造藉口促使政府取消或押後選舉。選民和政府各自做好本分，來一場公平公正公開的選舉，11月24日，就讓手中一票量化民意，變相公投，迫使林鄭和習近平回應香港人以血汗、淚水、生命、前途拼死爭取的五大訴求。
