反皮草，out 與in
香港一直有個反皮草anti-fur campaign，行動不見得激烈，起碼沒有向穿皮草大衣的人噴漆。西方比較平和的抗議手法，是由赤裸的人象徵動物，關在籠裏等候被剝皮。
有一句相襯的口號： I would rather go naked than wear fur，寧願赤裸，不穿皮草。
維護皮草業的一個講法是，上一代狩獵野生動物，過程也許血腥殘忍，但今日的皮毛動物都來自養殖場，就等於養豬牛羊一樣。於是就有立法會議員葉劉淑儀的一句名句︰著皮草同食牛差不多。
但把動物的皮毛掛在身上，或許除了住在苦寒北國的人，真的有需要嗎，抑或不過是虛榮作祟？ It’s a matter of necessity, or just an issue of vanity?
也許葉劉沒留意的，是國際反皮草運動中人的話：
For you, it’s the fashion choice. For the animals, it’s life or death. 對你來說，是一項時裝選擇。對動物來說，卻是生死關頭。
Cruelty is one fashion statement we can do without. 殘酷是不必要的一句時裝宣示。
Fur is worn by beautiful animals and ugly people. 皮草穿在美麗的動物及醜陋的人身上。更令愛狗之人惶惶然的，是這一句：
If you wouldn’t wear your dog, don’t wear fur. 若你不會著你的狗上身，也不要穿皮草。
Fur is dead. 皮草已死。於是，一日在立法會，室內氣溫起碼20 度的升降機內，又見葉劉淑儀「企硬」也似搭一件皮草，頗有點不以為然。及後聽她說：「你out 啦」。不想展開互罵，但霎時也曾想回應的一句話， 是「閣下果然in， 係insufferable 個in」，譯做廣東話，即是「頂你唔順」。反皮草的信息，有下面更in 的兩句：
You don’t need fur. Get a Rolex or a life. 你不需要皮草。不如去追求一隻名表，或好好地生活吧。
There’s a big FU in every FUR. 每一件FUR當中，都有FU 粗口。著皮草而自覺in， 查實係indecent 失分寸、缺禮數、壞品味，幾乎人世什麼錯的姿態都包； 當然亦要一數inhuman 及inhumane。Inhuman 指不似常人的一套，無人性的、野蠻的，contrary to normal human instincts。
The army’s treatment of the captives was an inhuman act. 軍隊沒人性地對待俘虜。Inhumane 是不人道。
They are treating the dog inhumanely. 他們不人道地對待那隻狗。以in 開頭的字， 似乎多數都係負面， 像insensitive 不夠敏感的、insensible 缺乏理智的。
He was insensitive enough to do that insensible thing. 他老皮老肉至會做那等沒頭沒腦的事。
留意好些字在前面加in，就變成相反詞：Sane → insane 神志清醒相對發癲。Tolerant → intolerant 忍得住相對受不了。不過要小心，valuable 固然解很有價值，但invaluable 並非相反詞，而係一樣解有價值之餘，更指未能估量之價值連城。
