名人教英文 – 係咁架啦……
看黃子華往往笑中帶淚的棟篤笑，當中一個信息，是「係咁㗎啦，好出奇呀？」，這是港式冷漠的經典金句。
係咁啦——It is what it is。就是如此，改變不了， 對世情來一款resigned attitude。Resign，除了解辭職，加ed 做形容，是逆來順受， 「忍佢」。It is a Hong Kong catchphrase denoting a resigned attitude towards life.
用英文表達「係咁啦」，或就是一句That’s life，說「生命就是這樣，生活就是如此」。也有英文人喜歡講原裝的法文：C’est la vie（This is life，讀say la vee）。
「係咁啦」後面再加「好出奇呀」，整句直譯是It’s always been like this （ 或that）. Nothing unusual.
如果不想講得這麼長篇，就承襲上面life 那句話，加重語氣來一句：Life is unfair，人世本來就不公道。講完。
然後加個姿勢，聳聳肩，shrug it off；添個表情，扮看不見，look the other way。Shrug it off and look the other way 撮在一起，就很有點像我們的一句次文化三字經： 「側側膊，唔多覺」。The politicians shrugged off the issue and looked the other way，那班政治人就議題「卸膊」，詐作不見。
黃子華說的冷漠，英文有許多同義的字，要有冷的意思，固然可用coldness、coolness，但重點是冷，少了「漠」（漠視）的感覺。Apathy 譯回中文是「冷感」：Political apathy is always a problem（政治冷感從來都是個問題）。黃口中的冷漠，最貼切的英文是indifference。
Indifference is the worst form of discrimination，冷漠是最糟的一款歧視。
Indifference 或feeling indifferent， 亦即feeling unconcerned， 「唔關我事」。
不關心，就不去爭取，但人世許多物事，並非天賜，要去爭取。一句勵志的話：
If you fight, you may not get it; but if you don’t fight, you will never get it.
爭取，不一定有；不爭取，就一定沒有。這句話，黃子華一定同意。
