名人教英文 – 15分鐘的「更平等」
He is getting his 15 minutes，他得了他的15分鐘。這句英文很淺，但，15 minutes，是什麼意思呢？
說的， 是15 minutes of fame， 15分鐘的出名、出風頭、「威威」，不淨是上了電視、上鏡一類的傳媒曝光，而是可以泛指任何「凸個頭出來」的場景，是對一個「恨上位」、「恨蒲頭」的人的嘲諷。
這句話的始創者，是美國近代藝術家安地． 華荷（Andy Warhol），就是把金寶罐頭湯變成前衛展品、「惡搞」（套用今日潮語）毛澤東肖像的第一人。他說： 「Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.（人人都會出名15分鐘。）」
他的原話， 本來沒有許多「單打」味道，但演繹至今，那15 分鐘，主要是用來取笑任何翹首盼望得到人家注意的人。像有人拿著米高峰不放，滔滔不絕， 就可對之拋下一句：He’s enjoying his 15 minutes.他在享受他的15分鐘。
順帶一提， 「惡搞」是to make a spoof of something。看，上述15分鐘事宜，除了學英文，亦拉上一點西方文化背景，可以好好玩。另一句常用口語，嘲諷之餘，晦氣較重的，是：Some are more equal than others. 中文通常譯做「有些人比其他人更平等」；更平等，即是較高級，有特權。這句話可給簡化為： Some are more equal.
這句話的原裝，說的其實是動物，不是人。出自英國上世紀首屈一指的小說家喬治．奧維爾（George Orwell）的名著《動物農莊》（Animal Farm）。這是個「反革命」的故事，以近童話形式鋪排，說一群動物不堪奴役， 起義成功，但那隻豬領袖漸漸就變了質， 起初說All animals are equal（所有動物平等），慢慢加了句but some animals are more equal than others （ 但有些動物比其他的更平等）。
故事情節濃烈影射上世紀前半部在史太林統治下的蘇聯，但套諸中國近代史一樣可以。History repeats itself， 歷史總會重複。
