塵緣了未
15 年前7 月25 日的晚上，我參加了一個為我完成了立法局的任期而設的宴會。席上，當年支持我參選的一群朋友，送給我一件令我感動無極的紀念品。他們集齊了我寫給法律界選民的通訊和立法局發言稿，影印編訂成冊，深藍封面上金字題目為《My Seated Days》。寓意是，這兩年不過是我在立法局有席位的日子，《基本法》規定的民選立法機關未能舉行，我只是沒有席位，但仍須履行職責，代表法律界，為民主人權法治發聲。
中英文修養一流的張健利，以英文作序之後，又附加了中文序言，題為「塵緣未了」，指我有未了之事，將來要重返議會，坐在法律界的議席上。他有一段是這樣寫的：
「儘管臨立會已開始運作，民主派立法局議員『落車』已成定局，我們絕不可就此『金盆洗手』，放鬆爭取民主、法治及人權的步伐。我深信吳靄儀與香港的政治舞台『塵緣未了』，無論在局內或局外，她不會『懶起畫娥眉』稍作鬆懈，必定能繼續監察港府及各級議會操作，永不放棄維護港人的權益。」
這些說話，他和我從來沒有忘記。
我的書架上還有另一件紀念品，歷史更長。那是我95 年首次當選之後，戰友送給我的一個純銀相架，我用來鑲上我1995 年9 月28 日給選民的承諾，其中首5 項是：
“I will defend the rule of law to the utmost ofmy ability without fear or regard to anyconsequence to myself. I will use everyopportunity to promote the spirit and principleof the rule of law in the community. I willdefend the independence of the judiciary. I willfight for democracy and social justice. I willuphold the rights and freedoms of theindividual, and resist attempts to underminethem.”
上星期，我給選民的最後一份立法會年報剛完稿，我說：我希望你會同意，我信守了我對你的承諾。張健利，我的塵緣了未？
