今天是香港七一遊行24周年紀念日。

2003年七一遊行，是香港人的集體回憶。猶記得在天后地鐵站裡，跟隨人潮蠕動20分鐘才上到地面，放眼盡是黑衣遊行人士，場面震撼。數日後，應美國駐港領事館邀請出席美國國慶酒會，幾位外國賓客熱烈地跟我說起這場遊行，盛讚香港人文明，50萬人上街井井有條，市容無損，他們無法想像美國任何一個城市做得到。

這次遊行是公民覺醒的分水嶺，尤其專業界別，提高自覺要利用專業知識服務香港，對時政不平則鳴，皆因特區政府窩囊，一國兩制出現走樣的苗頭，市民產生自救意識，想保住香港原有核心價值和制度。此後十多年，七一遊行有時墟冚，有時冷清，是民情寒暑表，亦是民怨的排氣閥，讓香港人出一身汗，抒抒氣，對政府是正面作用，但政府無珍惜，實在遺憾。

2019年警方最後一次批准七一遊行，成為絕響，去年今日警方拘捕三百多人，今天也會嚴陣戒備。七一遊行、六四晚會、蘋果日報、香港電台，本港原有核心價值的標誌一一被摧毀，倒退何止24年。

03年七一遊行最刻骨銘心，事實上回歸以來年年有，早期主辦單位是支聯會。諷刺是97年首次七一遊行的名義為「愛國愛港民主大遊行」，訴求是建設民主中國。香港人集體發了一場夢！夢醒了，不是躺平，就是遠走他方，赤鱲角機場一幕幕生離死別，比九七前移民當買保險的暫別更傷感。
