學周兆祥
他是香港第一代的綠色先鋒。我的本土環保意識，最先來自周兆祥在報上的文字，那大概是八十年代中。之前，我開水龍頭喜歡花啦啦，而夜裏會着了一屋的燈，追求一室光亮明澄的快意。
之後，讀得周兆祥多了，開始上心：水與電，不因為誰有錢付水費電費，就成了誰的私產。這些資源是公共的，不單屬於香港，更屬於整個地球。於是開始學習關心身邊的一花一草、隨手用的紙張膠袋。
後來分別兩次訪周兆祥。第一次的內容，包括聽他提議麥當勞應賣豆腐漢堡包。再隔好幾年去訪他的「野鴿居」 —隨附個小小果園，當然不用殺蟲水。結果本記者雙腿鋪天蓋地的蚊叮子，還有坐着靠的那張桌子上，因有一行行巨蟻不住兵操而惹發的一陣陣頭皮發麻，至今難忘。至今仍未能全盤身體力行學習周兆祥，但會自稱先學習了他的理念精神。
