投票包括白票，是選民表達意願的合法方式。投白票可以因為不滿選舉制度、無心儀候選人等毋須公開交代的個人理由，2012年立法會選舉新增超級區議會功能組別，就有6萬選民對此議席投白票。特區政府正在「完善」選舉制度，不想再見到大量白票，律政司司長鄭若驊竟然說，研究是否進一步規管。
白票數目無損選舉結果，只損特區政府甚至中央政府面子。國安法之下，主張選民投白票動輒入罪，但假如選民投白票的個人行為亦要管，等於說投票不保密，政府有辦法揪出投白票的選民並予以懲罰。若是這樣，選舉制度可謂「完善」到極度扭曲，矯枉的方向和力度錯上加錯。
觀乎中共近代歷次大型運動，信奉「矯枉必須過正，不過正不能矯枉」，鐵律是寧左勿右，下層揣摩上意，執行聖旨必過了頭，人民受苦。
特首林鄭月娥預告，「完善」選舉制度後，「完善」教育、傳媒和公務員制度。可以預見，中共對香港展開這場「完善」名義的運動，執行者也會走在矯枉過正的軌迹上。
上至京官，下至忠誠廢物，異口同聲一面倒諉過於香港人不知足，不知錯，不領中央情，不珍惜中央對港多麼寛容。平心而論，香港人、特區政府和中央政府三者之中，香港人的責任和議價能力肯定最小，香港演變到今日田地，盡是香港人之過？唯獨香港人要反省？一場「完善」運動後，就能宣稱「一國兩制」猶在？
