是誰殺死李旺陽？
一條狗，一隻貓，無端斃命，都要問因由，何況一個人？一個硬骨頭的鐵漢？一個捱過了二十一年牢獄和酷刑，仍舊堅強活下去、說真相的人？這個人居然「自殺」，一封遺書也沒有留下，竟然就草草掩埋了事？
一個在羈留中、在看管中的人，突然死亡，即使一切情況與自殺吻合，正常程序，也要開庭研訊，也要傳召看管當局訊問，因為他們對死者的安全有當然責任；何況這個人的「自殺」疑點重重，普通人也看得出不可能？為何當局竟然搶走遺體，不顧遺屬要求，就匆匆解剖、草草焚化？然後，過幾天，就說是得到家人同意，但家屬卻又下落不明，令人無從查證？
為何遠在香港的二萬五千群眾上街，成千上萬人簽名請願，才得到中央當局答允關注？這不是二十一世紀的六月飛霜嗎？竇娥冤，戲曲上說終於昭雪，但李旺陽之死會不會真相大白，還是不敢樂觀。
在香港的制度之下，任何非正常的死亡，也要呈報死因裁判官，由他決定是否要開庭研訊，程序公開，由陪審團裁定死因，家屬有權由律師代表，如有經濟困難，還可以申請法援，這不過是尊重生命的基本人權的體現。在中國大陸，非法處置遺體是刑事罪行，但為何竟會如此無法無天？
作為法律工作者，我要為李旺陽討回公道；作為一個普通人，我為李旺陽的慘死痛哭。六月十日的《明報》刊登了周游作的一首悼詩《別回來》，我禁不住提筆另作翻譯，以為祭文：Come back, O／Come back!／Mum lifts her head and beckons／Dad stamps his feet and calls out loud／Baby wails for you at the window／Come back／O come back! ／Or, may be don’t come back／Dying once is already too much／Go then／A quick make-up／And your reincarnation will stride／Along the sun drenched streets
