東涌河
政府高呼沒有土地，嚷着要在維港以外海域尋找填海之處。最近提出的「東涌餘下發展計劃」，雖把新市鎮人口從42萬減至22萬，但維持在東涌灣填海的計劃，勢必影響東涌河及河口一帶的生態環境。
東涌河是香港少數未被大規模破壞的天然河流，育有二十多種原生淡水魚類，包括全港獨有的北江光唇魚。河岸兩旁的林木則可找到稀有鳥類如大草鶯。河口的東涌灣是難得濕地，4.4公頃原生紅樹林，為多種海岸生物提供棲息地，如保育價值極高的鱟。迴游魚類如花鰻鱺，更是必須依靠天然河口和河流由海返回河中繁殖。任何涉及生態敏感地點的發展，應當採取預警原則(precautionary principle)，盡量避免破壞生態，選取影響比較小的替代方案，達致雙贏局面。諮詢即將展開，公眾要踴躍發表意見。
