柴油車廢氣會致癌 余若薇

世界衞生組織將柴油引擎排出的廢氣從「可能致癌」級別，提升至「確定致癌」級別，與香煙、酒精、石綿、砒霜等一樣，若長期吸入，會增加患肺癌、膀胱癌風險。香港路面上有13萬輛柴油車，雖只佔全港車輛21%，但當中絕大部分是職業車，天天在路面排放致癌物，危害市民健康。

路面10萬輛是中輕型和中型貨車，現任政府兩度推出資助計劃，撥出超過30億元，利誘車主換新型號柴油車，可惜每輛車的資助額杯水車薪，加上只獎不罰的做法，都是使計劃雷聲大雨點小的原因。

生化柴油可降低污染物排放，環保署在2003年已研究引入生化柴油的可行性，但差不多10年過去，仍停留在空中樓閣階段。隨着世衞的新評級，希望社會可集合更大的壓力迫使下屆政府做實事，改善空氣污染的死結。
