檢控獨立
資深大律師鄭若驊的法治意識，比香港特區第一任律政司長、根正苗紅的梁愛詩還不如。
當年在「胡仙」一案，梁愛詩決定不檢控報業老闆、董特首世交胡仙女士，她事後的解釋，動搖社會各界對特區遵守「法律之前人人平等」的信心，結果令她要面對立法會的不信任動議。當時大律師公會主席批評她，為何在這敏感的案件上沒有索取獨立大律師的專業意見，以避免利益衝突，引起公眾疑慮。梁愛詩汲取教訓，其後在梁錦松涉嫌「偷步買車」、退休法官王見秋涉嫌虛假申領津貼事件上，律政司都特意索取獨立法律意見，並就這些調查及最後決定不檢控的過程，詳細公開公布及接受議員質詢。以後歷屆律政司都奉行這個制度。
作為現任律政司長，鄭若驊是第一人在最大公眾爭議的涉及特首廉潔重大問題的檢控決定程序上，破壞這個保障檢控部門公信力的習慣做法。她是對自己的民望信心超高？還是不在乎公眾信心？還是有種種原因，此事不能正常處理？公平程序，本來作用是平息爭議，程序欠公平，哪怕只是公眾觀感，已足夠令爭議蔓延，甚至火上加油。
「法治」是否「已死」，司法獨立並非唯一值得關注之處，同樣重要的是檢控獨立，不受干預。若行使檢控權的律政司甘為配合政權服務，「法治」就迅速異化為保護權貴、殘害人民的利器。
