法政隨筆 – 尋覓的旅程 吳靄儀

最是教人腸斷是尋人，遍尋不獲，不知生死，是否已經天人永隔？是否天各一方，音訊難通？抑或尋人尋着了，反比尋不着更苦？有詩為證，就是艾畧特的《三王來朝》。聖誕節後第十二日是「主顯日」，紀念三王來朝見聖嬰。少年時中學老師教授此詩，但感嘮叨，如今才漸解詩中苦澀味道，特別是最後一段﹕……千里迢迢引領我們來，是為了出生還是入死？確然，有出生之事。

我們見證了無疑。我見過生也見過死，以前我以為兩者迥異；但這出生竟嚴苛苦澀折磨若此，對我們，像死，像是我們的死。

我們重返家鄉，這些國度，但已無以為家，在舊教規下，在緊抱着他們的神道的異鄉人之中。

我會欣然再死一次。
