為公為民 梁家傑

公民黨成立於2006年3月，今年剛好是15周年。幾位前黨友卻在此時被囚牢中受難。專科醫生、大律師、飛機師，本可過優渥生活，不加入政黨，不從政，但他們有顆追求民主的心，為了建立民主制度，理性溫和議政，犧牲事業發展與天倫時間，現在更要犧牲人身自由，案件未審先還柙。從政理念為公為民，卻遭逢顛覆國家政權的莫須有指控，令人痛心。

回顧公民黨這些年，盛衰各有時，世代更迭，人事遞嬗，縱使現在大環境急速倒退，前景晦暗，公民黨成立的初衷並無改變，盼香港建立真正的民主制度，實現《基本法》承諾香港人的普選。公民黨堅信，民主制度促使議會和政府充分向人民問責，公權力受到制約，市民的基本人權自由乃至福祉，才會得到保障。這個烏托邦比15年前更加遙不可及，但筆者作為創黨黨員、現任主席、民主運動一員，無放棄這信念。

30年後再現移民潮，確實令人唏噓，但始終有超過700萬人在這兒安身立命。今天的香港雖然可以說是變得面目全非，許多我們珍惜的自由和權利都在急速消逝中，但香港對國家、對國際社會仍有價值, 需要我們一同守護。公民黨願與香港人同行，不絕望、不放棄，各守崗位，互相守望，一起渡過低迷的日子。歷史沒有如果，只能應付當前，放眼未來，等待黎明。
