用英文講「架勢堂」
架勢堂的「堂」，大概可指任何招牌。架勢，通常與「巴閉」相通，用來讚人，最方便的英文字，係grand。我們的日常口語亦常講「乜乜好grand」，亦即「好大單」；有splendid（華麗堂皇）、magnificent（壯觀宏偉）、dazzling（眩目稱奇）之意。
一句過： 「嘩，架勢堂！」
Gee, that’s splendid!
Wow, soo grand!
把so 講成soo 是要強調「非常」，等於口語的「真係好鬼……」。
如果針對的是某人的架子氣勢，要讚其人有王者之風，可說：
He displays regal bearing.
That is a lady of regal bearing.
Regal，即royal、王室的。視乎當事人的性別年齡，亦可用kingly、queenly、princely代替，但一般就少講princessly。
如果語氣查實是「單打」對方，充滿貶意， 「佢好架勢堂㗎」，是嘲諷這人「懶巴閉、扮晒嘢」；像說「他架勢堂也似地走進來」：
He walks in, playing boss. 他走進來，姿態「扮老細」。
He walks in as if he owns the place. 他走進來，彷彿他擁有這地方似的。不也就是扮「我主場」！
批評人扮架勢、懶巴閉，尋常英文用語亦有arrogant（傲慢）、conceited（自大）、pompous（自大再加一點浮誇）等形容詞。
That is an insufferably arrogant, conceited,pompous person. 那是個令人受不了的架勢堂、自大狂。Insufferable， 令人受不了，「頂唔順」。
而架勢堂的文字或說話， 可另用lofty、lofty-sounding：
That’s a lofty production. 那是個「重頭、大堆頭」製作。
That’s a lofty-sounding plan. 那是個聽起來重頭、亦即「懶重頭、懶大堆頭」計劃。
順帶一提比較口語的uppity，解putting onairs of superiority（扮作高人一等）。名詞uppitiness。
She is the uppity type. 她是「懶有嘢」一族。
His uppitiness bothers me. 他那款扮高級，我吃不消。
