綠色公民 – 不設防的地質公園 余若薇

政府本月初高調為地質公園揭幕，並請來中央要員主持典禮兼公布頒授國家級地質公園的認證。據報道，地質公園12%的地區，目前仍未列入法定的保護區。政府承認這些都是核心保護區的地帶，但最快也要下月才刊憲，預計要一年才完成法律程序，列為法定保護區。現時，這些地區堪稱不設防地帶。

政府向立法會解釋，那些地方多屬偏遠孤島，人迹罕至所以不會構成問題。不過，近日一宗磯釣客在火石洲不幸被大石壓死事件，證明這是政府一廂情願的想法。其實，不少磯釣發燒友，經常登上這些離島，政府推動地質遊熱潮時，也可能吸引更多人攀登這些未受保護之地。地質公園的石塊非常珍貴但亦不穩定，隨時有倒塌危機，政府有責任加快立法保護公園及遊客的安全。
