綠色公民 – 何處覓流螢 余若薇

立法會環境事務委員會主席觀賞盛夏生態，白晝固然很熱鬧，有蜻蜓看有蟬聲聽，入夜之後亦絕不死寂，鄉郊和郊野公園不少地方都可以看到螢火蟲，毋須靠電視的電腦特技才能覓得流螢。

大埔滘自然護理區是香港觀賞螢火蟲的熱點，每逢七八月的晚上，大大小小的生態團就沿着林徑溪邊，尋找那點點螢光。

孔雀開屏，夏蟬爭鳴，是為了吸引異性，螢火蟲的發光也不例外。雄性螢火蟲較主動，會一邊飛一邊發光；雌性則較矜持，只會伏在葉上，間中才閃爍一剎那，回應拼命發光，展現威風的雄蟲。

香港城市發展急促，如今我們還能見到一點點螢光，但滿天螢火的景像就很難再看到了。這種被虞世南形容為「的歷流光小，飄飄弱翅輕」的小昆蟲，要靠我們小心保育郊野生態，才能繼續劃破夏秋間的黑夜。
