綠色公民 – 夏日蟬聲
立法會環境事務委員會主席夏日走過終審法院，總聽見吵耳的蟬聲。
伊索寓言將蟬描繪為游手好閒，沉湎唱歌，晚景淒涼的反面教材；但古代中國文人卻以為蟬含氣飲露，高枝獨處，讚美牠澹泊、寡慾，形容牠們是清流和貞士。
唐代有關蟬的詩很多。首推駱賓王的《在獄咏蟬》：「西陸蟬聲唱，南冠客思深。不堪玄鬢影，來對白頭吟。露重飛難進，風多響易沉。無人信高潔，誰為表予心。」此外，虞世南的《蟬》：「垂緌飲清露，流響出疏桐，居高聲自遠，非是藉秋風。」同樣表明詩人品性高潔。
寒露以後蟬聲轉噤，因而寒蟬又稱為啞蟬，更引伸「噤若寒蟬」、「寒蟬效應」等名詞。今日，終院旁的蟬聲，正好警惕我們自由要靠法治保障。蟬聲也許刺耳，但總比寒意更有生氣。
