綠色公民 – 慳電膽的隱憂
不論餐廳、酒樓、士多、街市，甚至燒臘舖，都紛紛改用慳電膽。自能源標籤法例通過後，普羅市民知道哪類型的燈泡可以節省電費，明智地做綠色消費的決定，短短一年半載之間，已令節能照明工具成行成市。
相信政府還未來得及草擬立法取締鎢絲燈泡，鎢絲燈泡的數量已漸被市場淘汰，立法與否已無礙大局。
慳電膽急速普及，但回收措施並未令人安心，棄置電子慳電膽會釋放水銀，危害環境。目前只有自願性慳電膽和光管回收計劃，但收集箱少，而且獨立於食環署垃圾收集系統外，難保所有被丟棄的都送到青衣化學處理中心處理。發光二極管(LED)是更環保的選擇，但目前在品質缺乏檢定，價格也高，需要政府確立認證制度和提供財務誘因鼓勵市民採用，提供更環保選擇。
