綠色公民 – 普羅米修斯之火
本周一起，能源效益標籤法例正式生效，所有冷氣機、雪櫃和慳電膽都必須貼上能源標籤，清楚說明產品的耗電程度。標籤猶如普羅米修斯的火種，讓資訊黑洞中的消費者，能作出明亮選擇，實現低碳生活。
有論者建議，不如索性立法禁售高耗能產品。法例不應強制或剝奪市民的選擇。從政者亦不應以為自己比市民聰明，輕率地以禁制或派糖等方式，威迫利誘市民改變。即使是出於善意，也可能招來反效果。我們應相信只要法例或政府提供正確資訊，市民自然會作出理性選擇。
資訊不單止要正確，亦要充足。第一批強制執行節能的產品只有三種實在太少，況且最近有關慳電膽的爭議令不少市民擔心含水銀的節能產品是否真正環保，政府有責任盡快澄清。
