綠色公民 – 有翅寶石
立法會環境事務委員會主席炎炎夏日，行山怕中暑，卻是觀賞昆蟲的好時機。香港雖是彈丸之地，但蜻蜓種類多達115種，既有常見的大溪蟌、紅蜻、黃翅蜻，罕見的廣瀨妹蟌，甚至稀有的蕾尾絲蟌。牠們拍打着前後兩對翅膀，在溪流、沼澤和濕地飛躍，為香港的山澗閃爍着鮮艷的色彩。
人類約20萬年前在東非出現，蜻蜓在2億5千萬年前已在地球上飛翔。香港首次被記錄的蜻蜓，是Baron de Selys Longchamps在1854年發現的「方帶幽蟌」。
蜻蜓是浪漫的昆蟲，當雌雄交尾時，尾巴會屈曲扣成一個心形，公開宣示牠們的愛有多深。蜻蜓也是專一的情癡，只會選擇同一品種為伴，堅貞不渝。
要繼續欣賞蜻蜓，必須讓蜻蜓的生境得到良好的保育。香港蜻蜓出沒的熱點沙羅洞，多年來一直受到發展的威脅，需要我們調整政策加強保育。
