綠色公民 – 無車日
環保團體上周舉辦「無車日」，呼籲車主停止駕駛一天。香港空氣污染的重災區是發電廠排放的二氧化硫和汽車排放的懸浮粒子。同時，汽車排放的溫室氣體亦大約佔兩成全港溫室氣體排放。
「無車日」活動的真正意義，不單是一年暫停駕車一天，而是反省駕車所產生的污染惡果，並提出解決方法。我們應透過交通規劃和財務稅務手段壓抑汽車污染，如發展更完善的集體運輸系統、設立低排放區、連結單車徑網絡、增加高污染舊車牌費、?免環保車稅項、開徵擠塞費和排污費、限制車輛駛入繁忙地區。
香港要盡快引入更環保的車種，如混燃車、電動車和更新更環保的巴士。環保汽車的售價仍是較貴，但不要忘記高污染車輛引致哮喘等呼吸道疾病，實在利多於弊。
