綠色公民 – 車齡18老巴士 余若薇

日前，立法會又再討論繁忙地區(銅鑼灣、旺角、中環)的巴士長龍，如何減低巴士污染，落實低排放區。政府目標是只准歐盟四期或以上新型號巴士駛入該區。

現時有2360輛巴士行走這些地區，但多達2200輛屬歐盟四期以前的舊巴士。每輛巴士須服役18年才更換，以一年換約100輛的速度，大概要到2030年這批舊巴士才全部退役。

顧問研究指出，更換舊巴士可為香港節省醫療開支，帶來243億元效益。以每輛3百萬元計算，全部更換舊巴士的成本約60多億元。政府有足夠財力協助巴士公司提早淘汰舊巴士，盡早落實低排放區。

政府反建議先試驗為舊巴士安裝催化器，但實驗成效有待驗證，既無承諾何日有結果，不成功又如何？究竟議員可以做甚麼，才迫使政府改善空氣？
