綠色公民 – 野豬襲北角 余若薇

近年，野豬入侵市區的事件不斷出現，但在港島區發生倒是近年首次。上周一隻野豬在北角街頭出現，漁護署人員發出多次麻醉槍，終令野豬倒下。野豬因受傷太重而要被人道毀滅。

野豬是香港分布廣泛的大型野生哺乳類動物，新界、將軍澳、港島和大嶼山也有牠們的蹤。有專家指，冬天野豬或會因覓食困難，離開棲息地誤闖城市，估計北角野豬是從石澳過來。遇上野豬，最重要是保持鎮定不要亂跑，免得激起野豬過敏反應。另外，雌豬對幼豬保護心切，挑釁幼豬如同玩火。

有意見認為郊區城市化和野豬繁衍迅速，人豬相遇的情況將會更普遍。過去政府只靠野豬狩獵隊獵殺或漁護署人員擒捕的方法，恐怕只能治標，更有效是研究透過絕育控制野豬的數量以及管理野豬的活動範圍。
