《南方周刊》「新年獻詞」被政府當局肆意刪改，港人看在眼裡不少感到無限惆悵或痛心。這次粗暴干擾新聞言論自由，對內地來說不是第一次，相信亦非最後一次，也代表了當權者一貫基本管治思維：歌功頌德者如莫言可受無限推崇；憂國憂民者如劉曉波則被判牢獄之苦。這是今天的中國！

五千年來，這些悲慘故事不斷延續，始終揮之不去！文天祥的《正氣歌》中所言之太史簡、董狐筆的命運不是最好的例證嗎？就是不提這些極端例子，封建時代歌頌功德的往往可被編入正史，為朝廷尋找不足的，往往被貶為野史，甚或沒有歷史地位之文人筆錄。試想想，有如山鐵證的南京大屠殺在日本也有人試圖篡改歷史，中國的六四事件，至今本土歷史文獻上仍「未有定論」。這又是誰的責任？

文人被逼害之主要原因是，大家皆了解一支筆的威力可以遠勝一隊軍隊的槍桿，自古至今皆是如此；一支筆可以彰顯正義，亦可貶良頌奸，真相往往可能經過很長時間才得以水落石出。

最近看了一本有關楊家將的書。作者試圖從各種正史、野史及民間傳說中求證這家傳戶曉的楊家將故事的真確性，發現這如歌似泣的英雄故事絕大部分與歷史不符！更令人感到不安的是，對北宋政權有深遠貢獻之名將如潘美、狄青等，均被《楊家將》等小說及劇目雕塑為白臉奸臣流傳後世，廣達人心。那麼編寫《楊家府演義》或《楊家將》劇本的各位作者，是否都是刻意篡改歷史，大奸大惡之人？非也！他們只是為了迎合大眾對英雄故事之需求，而有意無意間改寫了史實罷了。可見無心之失尚能如此，有心篡改，其禍更大！在今天的物質主義、政治兩極化之社會裡，要重新樹立董狐筆、太史簡之精神，談何容易？
