讚彈 – 為皮蛋平反
甲之蜜糖，乙之砒霜，One Man’s meat is another man’s poison，無論中或英，這兩句諺語突顯「讚彈」專欄的本意，喜惡往往是觀點與角度。
中環鏞記的招牌食物，除了燒鵝，其次就是皮蛋酸薑，差不多每枱都有一碟。中國人愛吃溏心皮蛋，西方人卻不敢恭維，美國有線新聞網(CNN)早前票選它為「全球最噁心食物」，美國福布斯(Forbes)近日一篇專欄文章，作者Jeff Bercovici介紹全球13種最噁心食物，皮蛋又上榜，Jeff形容皮蛋是「又灰又綠又啡」century egg，像放了百年的發霉蛋。
他眼中的噁心食物還有「像鼻涕」的燕窩、「吃時牠們仍在掙扎」的醉蝦、蛇酒、貓屎咖啡、鴨仔蛋、納豆、墨西哥螞蟻幼蟲、冰島鯊乾、挪威熏羊頭等等。
皮蛋蒙上污名，有內地網民視為國恥，馬上發起票選「西方噁心食物」，臭奶酪、半生牛肉、法式蝸牛皆入圍。有網民用另一種方式為皮蛋平反，發起票選「中國噁心食物」，高踞榜首的是老鼠三吱兒(生吃初生老鼠)、動物鞭和貓肉。相比這些令人雞皮疙瘩的「食物」，皮蛋不值一哂！
有云，中國人為滿足口腹之欲，凡地上走、天上飛、背脊向天的皆可吃。中外各地人民風俗和口味不同，Ripley’s Believe It or Not!介紹許多奇人奇事，各類蛇蟲鼠蟻都有人吃，所以上述票選不必太認真對待，只當文化交流。
