電車也搞環保

電車也搞環保 余若薇

歷史悠久的電車，最近也說要趕上環保潮流，擁抱低碳經濟。電車公司計劃採用新款電車，不單翻新車身，還加強能源效益，如剎車系統以交流電機取代舊式的直流電機，令電車剎車時所產生的電流可回流電網，供其他電車使用，減少不必要的耗能。

電車本來已經是零廢氣的交通工具，現在更進一步加強節能效果，在環保上精益求益。如果香港人人都像電車那樣致力環保，低碳經濟指日可待。

電車是香港的地方特色和港人的集體回憶，在今次革新中，也會保留6至7部有紀念價值的舊電車。保育，不是要舊事舊物一成不變，拒絕新事物。只要保留舊物的神髓和歷史的脈絡，其他方面可以與時並進。電車承先啟後的環保革新，為香港立下一個好榜樣。
