Dr Judith Buber Agassi
Dr Judith Buber Agassi，我的師母，痛於7 月15 日在以色列特拉維夫逝世，終年94 歲。師母生於動盪大時代的知識分子家庭，祖父是猶太裔哲學大師Martin Buber 布伯， 母親Margarete Buber Neumann 年輕時是熱血共產黨員，與師母父親離異後隨志同道合的第二任丈夫被召回莫斯科，1938 年Neumann 被秘密處决，Margarete 被送往勞改營至1940 年。蘇聯與納粹德國交換囚犯，她被關進Ravensbruck 集中營，存活5 年至戰後釋放；1948 年，她的著作Under TwoDictators 震撼國際。
師母在父母離異後，由祖父祖母撫養，在耶路撒冷長大，一直不知生母生死，直至1947 年才得重聚，從非猶太裔的德國籍母親口中得知關在Ravensbruck 集中營裏的猶太婦女的悲慘生活。1994 年，她出席紀念結束集中營的活動，驚訝地發現只有一位倖存者接獲邀請參加，其餘成千上萬的受難者都無法聯絡上。師母於是矢志要尋訪檔案，重組名單，逐一聯絡倖存者，寫出她們的故事。為此，她組織了資料調查團隊，努力多年，終於在2007 年出版了Jewish WomenPrisoners of Ravensbruck: Who WereThey? ，夾附光碟，載錄了16,000 人的名字和下落。師母的本行原是社會學，專研性別與工作，集中營檔案重組是她為人類歷史承擔的個人使命。她的堅強與博愛，教人肅然起敬。
我於1971 至1975 年受業於JosephAgassi 老師，當年師母一邊做自己的學術工作一邊照顧我們，好比一位投入我們追求哲學真理的慈母，她知情不語的微笑，永遠活在我的腦海裏。
