公民黨就一名男士因被控發布淫褻物品而被還押八個星期侯審的事件，深表關注。同類控罪而被拒保釋侯查的情況並不常見，因而使人質疑市民的自由是否有不合理地被侵犯。

公民黨十分認同公眾對近日網上散播不雅及淫褻照片的憤怒。我們支持警方的調查，根據有關法例緝捕及懲罰犯罪者。但是，警方處理今次事件的手法引起對執法問題廣泛的關注及可能產生混淆。

我們特別關注的是警方對不同人士的投訴有不同優先次序的處理。尤其近日有關警方對被扣侯查的示威者進行脫衣搜查的投訴，使人無可避免地認為警方執法對富人、名人和普羅大眾持不同的司法準則。

我們請求警務處長澄清他的立場並回應公眾的關注。
