Civic Party Announces Basic TV Debate Arrangements

Over the past ten days Civic Party Working Group has been in discussion with the Chief Executive Office regarding the arrangements of the debate between the CE and Hon Ms Audrey Eu. Subsequent to the four meetings, both parties are close to the signing of a memorandum of understanding, subject to some fine details. In response to the interest of the public and the media, we hereby announce some basic details which have been agreed in principle by both parties:

1. Date: 17 June 2010
2. Time: 6:35p.m. – 7:30p.m.
3. Venue: Conference Room, New Annex, CGO
4. Moderator: Mr Ng Ming Lam
5. Production: RTHK
6. Public participation: No live audience from the public, but questions from members of the public will be collected via radio stations in written form and voice records. These questions will be selected for use in a dedicated session in the debate.

The Working Group will continue to work out remaining details with the CE office, with a view to staging the debate in an open and interactive manner.
