The hill fire broke out at Tai Lam Country Park on Chung Yeung Festival in 2006 has been considered as the most serious one in the last decade. Within 2 days, no less than 60,000 trees were destroyed across 740 hectares, nearly equivalent to 40 Victoria Parks’ size. It was the most severe hill fire in the past 10 years.
The Civic Party is now organizing this CP Tree Planting Day 2007 on Saturday, 26 May 2007 at 1:15pm – 5:30pm. This event can accommodate 200 participants. Sincerely, I am now inviting all Party Members, Friends and their families to take part in this meaningful action to help restore our beautiful country park.
