Joshua Wong Granted Habeas Corpus; Dennis Kwok Demands the Release of Chow and Shum
The Court of First Instance of the High Court has granted habeas corpus and ordered the immediate release of Joshua Wong from detention. The judge has also demanded that the Police consider releasing the two other arrested students, Alex Chow Yung-Kang and Lester Shum. Legislator Dennis Kwok believes that the Police no longer has any reasonable justification in continuing to detain Chow and Shum, and urges the Police to release Chow and Shum immediately out of fairness, failing which habeas corpus will be applied for Chow and Shum.
