The 2010 Southern District (Pokfulam Constituencies) By-election that Civic Party participated ended yesterday (Sept 5). Civic Party’s candidate Paul Zimmerman won the by-election by 1,183 votes versus opponent’s 792 votes.
Mr. Paul Zimmerman and the Civic Party sincerely thank for the support from Pokfulam residents, and the assistance from Party members and friends. This is the result of the Civic Party’s solidarity, especially when he saw members rushing to help on the Polling Day. He specially thanks for the nomination and support from the Hong Kong Island District Branch. Paul said, this is the victory of the positive core values of Hong Kong, and he will continue to work for the betterment of Hong Kong.
Party Leader Audrey Eu said the election result showed that Hong Kong people accept a positive election. Winning this by-election relied on the support from the pan-democratic camp, including Democratic Party, the League of Social Democrats, Cyd Ho, Peter Cheung and etc. Civic party will strive to serve the public to repay their support.
