All Members of the Civic Party, shocked by the devastation and huge casualties, extend their deep condolences to those injured as well as the families of the victims.
Civic Party has launched its territory wide fundraising for the earthquake relief on 14th May 2008. The spot in Central (Aon China Building) have raised over 180,000 on the same day from 9am to 3pm. Party Leader Audrey Eu, Alan Leong, Ronny Tong, Margaret Ng, Fernando Cheung, Secretary-in-General Joseph Cheng, District Councillor Tanya Chan, Wong Ka Wa and members of Civic Party have all stationed in the spot in Central this morning and we have raised $180,000 during the six-hour operation of the fundraising spot.
All the donations will be made directly to the Hong Kong Red Cross for the earthquake relief. We could not successful launch the fundraising without the help of members and with the help of the Hong Kong Red Cross and the quick approval of license from Lands Department and Social Welfare Department.
Civic Party will continue to raise fund from now on.
