《成報》遭受升級威嚇 嚴重侵犯新聞自由

本港報章《成報》於今日（2月24日）發出聲明，指公司網站和員工因其所報道、刊載的內容而受到各種手段威嚇、攻擊。公民黨強烈譴責此等侵犯新聞自由的惡劣行徑。

言論自由是香港核心中之核心的價值，《基本法》第二十七條亦列明香港人享有言論、新聞、出版的自由。言論自由當中以新聞自由尤為珍貴，傳媒作為社會問題的揭露者、政府三權的監察者，其言論自由必須得到保障，方可發揮第四權的功能。

自去年秋始，《成報》著力於報道香港局勢以至特首選舉背後的黑幕，一時間成為全港焦點。可能因這些報導，令公司網站遭受大規模黑客政擊、員工被惡意電話電郵滋擾，甚至糾集不明人士在報館樓下騷擾《成報》職員，實屬對新聞自由的嚴重踐踏。

公民黨重申，無論傳媒採取何種立場，其言論自由都應受到保護。特別在特首選舉如箭在弦之際，任何意圖令傳媒噤聲的行為，都對香港的言論自由戕害深遠，為禍無窮。

在此促請警方嚴正處理《成報》的求助，亦希望特區政府重視此案，以免此事件在傳媒界引起寒蟬效應，打擊傳媒工作者的信心。
