「五區公投運動」總發言人余若薇：學生展示對香港民主運動的承擔和勇氣

一些大專學生今午宣布組成「大專2012」，派員參與啟動「五區公投」。「五區公投運動」總發言人余若薇有以下回應：
余若薇表示，尊重任何人參選的決定，並讚賞學生，比起那些有更多人力物力資源但怯於中央指令而不敢參選的政黨，學生展示了對推動香港民主的承擔和勇氣。
余若薇重申，「五區公投運動」不是純粹公民黨與社民連兩黨的事情，而是一個全民運動，需要社會各界包括學生在內積極參與。
然而，余若薇表示有點擔心學生與五區公投運動兩隊參選人的議題相同，可能令公眾混淆。學生建議以兩個團隊的票數總和作為公投結果，余若薇對此建議有保留，她重申，「五區公投運動」在每區只派一人出選，暫時不會調整衡量勝負的標準。
余若薇說，目前五區公投運動聯合委員會的首要工作，是令市民明白能否達致真普選的關鍵，繫於廢除功能組別，並呼籲全港選民在「5.16」選舉日投票，表達對真普選的訴求。
