余若薇﹕邱騰華若不更新空氣質素指標便應下台

傳媒今日報道，申訴專員公署回覆環保組織地球之友的申訴，敦促環境局局長邱騰華盡快向公眾交代更新空氣質素指標的時間表。
公民黨立法會議員余若薇批評，政府一年多前完成有關的公眾諮詢，但一再拖延更新空氣質素指標，逃避採取措施改善香港空氣嚴重污染的責任。
余若薇今年3月在立法會質詢邱騰華事情進展，回覆依然是「會盡快完成」，拒絕交代時間表。余若薇說，一如她當天的說法，如果邱騰華在更新空氣質素指標一事上未能回應社會長期訴求，沒有履行其職責，他應該承擔政治責任引咎下台。
余指出，香港政府25年來沿用1987世衛頒布的空氣質素指標，與世衛現時採用更高標準的2006年指引完全脫節，特區政府遲遲不更新空氣質素指標，可能擔心影響陸續上馬的大型基建，例如，港珠澳大橋已被法院裁定不符環評要求，倘若環保標準提高了，大橋工程更難符合環評。
特區政府08年6月展開為期18個月的「空氣質素指標」公眾諮詢，09年10月特首發表的施政報告已提到「政務司司長正統籌空氣質素指標的檢討和更新工作」，但未見下文。
