公民黨動物權益關注組批評施政報告對動物福利政策隻字不提

公民黨動物權益關注組對施政報告中隻字不提動物福利政策感到強烈不滿和憤怒，今日去信梁振英促請政府盡快落實人道文明的動物福利政策。

關注組批評政府對社會上不斷發生令人咋舌的虐待動物案件視而不見，認為成立動物警察已是政府刻不容緩的責任。此外，關注組亦批評漁護署的規管私人繁殖寵物業的建議方案(Cap139B)並非真正「以動物健康和福利為本」，關注組早前已聯同其他的民間動保團體向政府表達對該方案的不滿。

關注組促請政府認真考慮公民黨早前呈交的施政報告建議書有關動物權益的建議，包括立即取消「動物守護計劃」、設立動物領養中心、規管屠房、立法全面禁止熊膽製品輸入香港、提高現行《防止殘酷對待動物條例》罰則、放寬限制讓動物主人攜同其飼養狗隻及貓隻乘搭公共交通工具及增設「寵物公園」等。
