公民黨呼籲港府公開增持港交所的準則
公民黨認為，今天港府就在九月增持香港交易所股份(下稱「港交所」)所提出的理據十分牽強。政府根本從未就增持港交所的原因提出一個真實又合理的解釋。
據政府的解釋，「增持股份」是為了推動港交所的長遠策略發展。但是：-
1. 現時並沒有任何證據顯示港交所的發展正面對即時的威脅；
2. 由於增持股份是透過市場交易進行，對港交所並未有帶來即時的收益；
3. 如果單單是為了推動港交所的長遠策略發展，港府根本並無必要增持其股份，只需動用外匯基金去進行策略性部署就已經足夠達致上述目標。
港府根據《外匯基金條例》第3條(1A)而提出的理據亦帶有誤導成份。如前所述，現時未有證據顯示「金融體系的穩定健全」受到威脅。
因此，公民黨再次呼籲港府公開增持港交所的真正目的，並向香港市民提供一個合理解釋，以釋市民疑慮。
