公民黨回應李輝言論

香港大學教育學院副教授李輝今天 (10月5日) 接受商業電台節目訪問時表示，公民黨在香港大學任命副校長一事中，將事件「升級」、「政治化」及「做了好多小動作」及背後支持陳文敏教授的政治立場，未能提出任何理據，全屬無理指控。

李先生的言論邏輯欠奉，帶有強烈政治偏見，他聲稱陳文敏教授是公民黨創黨黨員、曾經參與佔領運動、審批佔中捐款，全都與事實不符，更即時被主持人駁斥。

公民黨認為李氏作為學者，未有查證事實便公開作出指控，是極不負責任的表現，有負公眾對大學學者的期望。

《基本法》第一百三十七條保障香港院校自主及學術自由，公民黨認為這項核心價值及基本權利不容損害。因此，作為港大的受托人，港大校委會有責任向公眾解釋其不顧常規、否決物色委員會建議的行為，究竟理據何在，以釋社會對政治干預院校自主的真實憂慮。
