公民黨對趙連海事件之回應

對於因「尋釁滋事罪」被判囚的內地毒奶粉事件家長代表趙連海，其代表律師表示收到一張趙的署名字條，聲稱解除聘用兩人，公民黨對此覺得不可思議。其中一名代表律師李方表示，趙太李雪梅表現無奈，估計其家人應感到相當程度的壓力，並相信上訴期限已到，可以提出上訴的機會很微。

公民黨認為，整個事件由趙連海被捕至今都發展得極不尋常，當局未有尊重法律程序及維護被告的上訴權利，對此公民黨予以強烈譴責。而截至今天，我們仍然未能得知趙連海於獄中的情況，因此非常關注趙的健康情況。我們呼籲港區全國人大及全國政協委員應履行其職責，即是監察中國法律的實行情況，並促請當局維護被判囚人士的基本權利，容許律師、親友等探望。即是類似考香港懲教處的做法，安排太平紳士定期巡獄，聽取在囚人士的投訴，以保障他們的基本權利。
