公民黨對辭職公投有保留

學聯提議，議員辭職引發變相公投。公民黨原則上不反對採用這種方式量化民意，大前提是有合適條件，包括各方同意。
公民黨在黨內外反覆討論及廣納意見，反對聲音比支持聲音明顯較多。而支持的聲音當中，對於公投的議題和目的亦有明顯意見分歧。
公民黨2010年有份發動五區總辭變相公投，分析今天情況與4年前大不同，特別關注到，若果今天5名泛民直選議員辭職，在補選前的數個月「空窗期」，建制派議員會乘虛而入，修改議事規則或通過惡法。
基於上述因素，公民黨對今次議員辭職變相公投的建議有保留。
雨傘運動的真普選訴求，特區政府必須回應，責無旁貸。公民黨促請政府釋出善意，並有以下建議：
1. 重新開放公民廣場；
2. 「多方平台」不只討論2017年後政改，同時要討論2016、17年選舉辦法；
3. 向全國人大常委會提交「民情報告」，包括一個科學、具公信力的調查，量化香港市民對人大常委會8.31決定的民情。
4. 重啟政改「五步曲」。
公民黨將會與泛民朋友們走入群眾，深入社區，爭取更多民心，注入動力，延續這場民主運動，共同爭取真普選。
