公民黨籲檢討選民登記手續

公民黨黨魁梁家傑連同地區發展者到選舉管理委員會，促請選舉管理委員會檢討及簡化網上選民登記的手續，提供更便利、簡易的程序讓市民透過網上登記及更改個人資料。

執委余冠威指出，很多市民都使用網上報稅，甚至報案，但過去四年，使用網上選民登記人數竟然逐年下降，實在令人費解。

公民黨發現，過去四年透過網上登記成為選民的人數只有二百多人，佔整體選民登記人數不足百分之一(見下表)，相信是因為香港政府一站通提供的網上選民登記程序非常複雜，未能達致網上服務提供方便快捷的服務原意。

公民黨促請選舉管理委員會檢討及簡化網上選民登記的手續，提供更便利、簡易的程序讓市民透過網上登記及更改個人資料。

此外，由於租客對更改選民地址的意欲較低，除了一般性宣傳外，政府應該把握選民登記運動的機會，重點提醒租客更改選民地址，鼓勵他們履行公民義務，於選舉中行使投票權。
