公民黨組織「民主普選 寸土必爭」靜坐20小時12分

公民黨立法會議員吳靄儀於2009年1月7日的立法會會議上就“2012年政制發展的公眾諮詢”提出動議辯論。 為響應有關動議及顯示公民黨爭取普選的決心，公民黨於動議辯論前於立法會門外靜坐20小時12分，並邀請市民及民主路上的各界朋友參與，為普選打氣。 靜坐於1月6日下午4時於立法會門外開始，靜坐期間，公民黨成員及參與人士以摺紙鶴的行動，象徵香港市民要求民主、改善施政的願望。

公民黨與各民主派成員將一批紙鶴從「鳥籠」釋放，象徵市民爭取民主的決心，能克服障礙，衝破現行的一些不合理的制度。
