公民黨聲明：譴責暴力對待記者事件 促請警方嚴正處理

近年，香港傳媒在本港及內地採訪均多次遭受暴力對待，公民黨關注，昨天再有參與旺角區集會人士，多次推撞正在現場採訪的《壹週刊》攝影記者羅國輝，令羅先生三次倒地，與此同時，《明報》攝影記者鄧宗弘在現場拍攝期間，亦被在場人士腳踢，以及用手肘推撞和遮擋鏡頭，此等暴力行為應予以譴責。但據被襲記者所述，在場警員未有即時採取任何行動，任由施襲者繼續使用暴力對待記者，我們對此表示憂慮和遺憾。

公民黨強調，記者採訪期間遇襲並非首次，警方及特區政府有關方面從未嚴正處理，大多不了了之，無疑是縱容施襲者，危害香港新聞自由。我們促請警方嚴肅處理施襲事件，盡快緝拿兇徒。由於事件已引起公眾廣泛關注，期望監警主動調查事件是否涉及警員失職，捍衛香港新聞和採訪自由。
